Heritage Craft

We wouldn't call ourselves backwards here at the Marsh (although others may) but we do take an interest in the way things were once done. Not that we wear rose-colored glasses (that would be Nic in the Cafe making the chilli apple jelly). But we are of the general feeling that certain things were accomplished by hand in the past with a bit more attention to detail.

And so, our series on Heritage Craft.  Or in our best promotional speak:  Black Morning Marsh Press is pleased to introduce a new e-book series, FastTracks to Heritage Craft, in which our authors explore lost or disappearing, trades and tradecraft, drawing together print and digital resources alike to give readers a concise consideration of all possible aspects of the subject in an easy-to-read format.

Each e-book provides an informal introduction to a trade or trade craft, primarily through the eyes of someone approaching the subject for the first time. This fresh approach as well as a lists of resources at the end puts the reader onto the fast track to further exploration, knowledge, and experience.

We offered our first publication, free of charge, on coracles a while ago and were so please with response that we published our second just before Christmas 2014. We are currently looking at manuscripts on the subject of embroidery and needlecraft, watchmaking, as well as a follow-up to our book on the Potteries on the topic of women and the Potteries.

Please note that as of this writing (January 2017), none of our books are available for sale and/or download from Amazon. They are available at Smashwords (https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/BlackMorningMarshPress).  We, like other independent publishers and indeed traditional publishers, are wary of becoming entangled in Amazon's web. We are looking at it, no denying, but still considering what is the best approach.
